Dr.Akira Olsen is a board-certified clinical psychologist. As a psychotherapist, she has 17+ years of clinical experience working with adolescents, parents, families, and adults in various San Francisco Bay Area settings, including community mental health clinics, schools, women's and family shelters, telehealth clinics, and private practice. As a clinical researcher, clinical faculty, and clinical supervisor, she worked at Stanford University and Palo Alto University from 2018-2022.
She has extensive experience treating young adults and youths with Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Trauma/PTSD, Motivation, life transitions, and family issues.
She was initially psychodynamically trained and has had training in various modalities. She is certified in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (Levels I & II). Her past training includes but is not limited to Neuropsychology, Body-oriented psychotherapy, Trauma/PTSD treatment, Life Coaching, and Executive Coaching for young adult professionals with ADHD.
She strives to provide client-centered, evidence-based, feedback-informed, culturally competent, developmentally appropriate, and individualized services to her clients.
