Dr. Akira Olsen

I am a bilingual and bicultural Licensed Clinical Psychologist, fluent in both English and Japanese. I provide a compassionate, culturally responsive space for individuals, families, and professionals seeking healing, clarity, and meaningful growth. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, ADHD, trauma, stress, or life transitions, my goal is to support your journey with care, expertise, and authenticity.

My approach to therapy is integrative, client-centered, and rooted in evidence-based practices. I tailor each session to meet your unique needs and draw from a wide range of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Family Systems, Somatic Psychotherapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

With warmth, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity, I work to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where insight and transformation can occur. For children and teens, I integrate developmentally appropriate strategies — combining talk, play, and behavioral support — alongside parent coaching.

My experience spans over two decades across diverse settings, including community mental health, schools, medical institutions, and private practice. I have supported clients from varied backgrounds, including those in the arts, business, and entertainment industries. I also serve as Founder and CEO of WARM Education, where I provide training and consultation on trauma and ADHD to clinicians, families, and organizations.

In addition to my clinical work, I’ve served as clinical faculty at Palo Alto University and the Stanford PGSP Consortium and have presented nationally on topics such as trauma, youth mental health, and culturally informed care. I’m also a published author and mental health educator, passionate about making psychological support more accessible and inclusive.

I welcome you into a supportive space where your voice is heard, your identity is honored, and your healing matters.
